Innovative elements in the landscape
Natural Buffers and Environmental
In the lower area of the park, the density of tree planting creates a natural buffer towards the highway and the southern uses of the district. Here, the rainwater recharge zones and the natural reserve provide a space for interactive learning and play, with forest art and a riparian linear park following the main runoff of the area. The detention lakes offer both flood control and recreational areas, while bird islands and buffer zones enrich the area with natural beauty and wildlife.
Spaces for Learning and Recreation
The park also features spaces for active learning and recreation. Flood-prone areas are complemented by art installations and adult board games, as well as an outdoor gym.
Additionally, contemporary cave art, with strokes and overlays, combined with local pavement stones, creates a visually stimulating environment.
Innovative and Respectful Design
The design of the terrain is based on a compact geometry that respects the hydrology, topography, and existing trees. Inspired by a new architectural language, the park includes pergolas made of metal sheets and steel, as well as works by Mexican artists incorporating branches and local artisans' weavings.
Process
The stadium's landscape process began with a deep environmental analysis of the La Silla River basin. The challenge was to transform a former landfill into a high-performance ecosystem. This involved a multidisciplinary team of biologists and urban designers working together to ensure that every square meter of the project contributed to local biodiversity.
